Maryn the Night Fairy

Maryn is a Night Fairy.  She is active usually only at night.  It is not well known, but Night Fairies are very important pollinators.  This one is pollinating the marigolds.  She is sometimes mistaken for a firefly because she often does a light charm with her wand.  But you will notice that she has big eyes.   Night Fairies, like owls, have larger than average eyes and can see very well at night.  They often are friendly with other night animals like foxes, cats, and especially kangaroo rats.  

You will probably never know that you spotted a Night Fairy because they use a sheilding confusion charm to make you think that their light is a firefly OR you will only spot thier wings.  Their wings are very similar to moth wings.  So when you color Maryn the Night Fairy, remember to color her wings shades of grays, browns, blacks and perhaps tan.   

Also, notice that the sky in the drawing is a night sky so color it black... but feel free to use red, or blue, or yellow, or orange for the stars.  Or just leave the stars white.  As an amatuer astronomer I want to let you know something that most people fail to notice.... not all stars are white.  In fact, our sun is a yellow star.  Betelguese is a red supergiant... Vega and Sirius are blue stars that are twice as big as the sun.  So feel free to make the stars colorful.  You might notice that there are two planets there too.  One is whatever you want to call it.  The one with rings is Saturn.
